I have been running Microsoft Windows XP Media Center for about 3 years and I have been fine with it. Except when there have been virus attacks on it. (Im not happy then). But the rest of the time its been ok, it works. Nothing wrong there then. As I have grown up with it and the use of my computer changes, from gaming, to more software and blogging. I find more and more that the software I want to use can only be found on a Mac. The software for Windows it is either doesnt exist, too complicated to use, not user friendly and completely overpriced. That said I have managed to cope on XP. Much more recently I have been getting really annoyed with Microsoft new adverts (I am a pc and finding the best price for a new computer) to me this is really stupid and childish and the money they used for advertising should have been put to better use. For example improving the software and making it cheaper to the consumer me. And Vista just dont go there.

I think that this version of MS Money is good in the fact that it has become more task based and it has a lot more fuctionality with the MS Office programs. I also have found that it is a bit faster the some of the previous versions. The few things that I do not like about it however, are really just personal preference. Problem - Keeps restarting Windows Vista

I recently had a problem: Windows Vista introduces a new beginning. I was not sure why I do it, but not forever. It 'happened just after the wireless device may begin, so I thought that was where the problem was. But I could not run fast enough There are still quite new. I saw them run in a loop to restart itself for about 30 minutes, with me not to touch. But then I noticed something that keeps pace with Windows VistaReboot.

The computer I worked on needed a complete reinstallation of Windows Vista. I think it was one of those things that people know just enough to get to certain areas, but not enough to know what to fix. This thing was a disaster. However, after I reinstalled Windows Vista, start over, simply restart the system. As I said before, I thought it might be the mobile device, even though I was not sure why it should be, they are responsible. But then I noticed somethingbelow.

A program called FBISM.EXE always tries to start. And it had to be fast, so you can see, because it flashes for a second in the bottom of the screen. Then would start the process of restarting. After some 'research, I found this file needs to be started on a computer is started. So, all you have to do now is turn off again before rebooting.

Here's how to disable the program:

Once the computer is running, go to Start> type msconfig in the space and press Enter.

Pop-up window appears,> the tab "start up"

In this tab, find the file FBISM.EXE, and then clear the check box.

Then click Apply.

Then restart the computer.

This does not start the launcher, and should solve the restart. But there are still errors in the registry left because of this situation. You should remove a registration, download software and update the rest of the errors on the computer. From a Windows cleanThe installation of> Vista, I found 128 errors in the registry file. But now they are gone.

Follow the steps above, simply have the problem of maintaining a restart of Windows Vista and then use a registry key setting repair software for the rest of the error. This keeps the operating system needs funning smoothly.

Amazing how the 'downloadable' verision costs more than the box, huh? I rated this product in the standard media and gave it five stars. I took one away here for 1.) the price should be less 2.) you also have to download a download management program from Amazon --I did this for Turbo Tax and it worked well, however, it, the proprietay nature of that beast is a little disturbing to me, especially the size of that program.

Also, if you are in a hurry for this -i.e.,you want to download it- you probably want to read the bottom of my review about quicken.com.

I have a SMALL business and have been using Quicken for years. Along the way I have noticed how a few years back that Quicken (Intuit) let their product slide and also introduced hype each year to entice you to buy something that wasn't much more valuable than the previous version. (During those years I tried MS Money, etc., but Quicken still had the edge IMHO in spite of the decline in quality)

When the business grew a little last year I also bought Quickbooks 2008 (I also fell into a hype trap about Payroll addition which was nothing but a service. . .but that is another story) Last year I used it a lot but found that Quickbooks was too cumbersome for a business of my size. So, that caused me to look around for a good product again.

Yes, I was VERY hesitant to buy this product; was planning on returning it if it didn't live up to its claims. . . but surprisingly, IT DOES. I have been using it about four months now.

The primary feature is the ability to separate your business and personal trasactions on one screen. Being a techie I understand that there was a signficant amount of database work to accomplish this -and they did it- and in such a way it is very convenient to use, even for business transactions that may be in accounts that are normally 'personal.' This product is a breeze to use for a business my size and to also keep up with personal finances. Probably if I had as many as five-ten employees I would use Quickbooks.

2009 also offers several other bells and whistles above Quicken 2008: The ease of adding new accounts, the reports, the way it imports data is better and some features I seldom use, i.e., 'Quicken Picks' which produces coupons from stores you use. Even these make it worth the price.

But again, it is the Business and Personal data that are easy to seperate, but managable together on single screens that does it for me --it is a signficant advancement along with these additional bells and whistles.

You may want to shop around. I looked at it here but then bought it from Intuit who was bundling it with WillMaker, etc., and etc. And their websites are also improving, e.g., when my computer crashed all I had to do was log back in to quicken.com and reload ALL that software. Intuit is definitely trying to do better, this product was well worth it for me.

Windows Vista - you should upgrade to it? I suggest you wait. During my seventeen years in business computer support, I learned to avoid the initial version of a Microsoft product. But many of my clients have asked me if it is updated, I have a little 'research. Here's what I discovered.

There are six different versions of Vista, each on different markets, four for home users and two for business users. Home versions include> Vista Ultimate, which some extra cool, Vista Starter, advertises a lighter version for emerging markets outside the United States, Vista Home Basic and Vista Home Premium. Basic and Premium versions are on most new computers at home.

Business customers can choose between Windows Vista Business or Vista Enterprise. Vista Business is for small and medium-sized businesses in target markets, while Vista EnterpriseVolume Licensing large corporate clients. Here are the different versions. Let's take a look at the update process.

The upgrade from any Windows operating system is not easy to pull off. For this reason, the updates are provided in order to solve specific problems with the current version. The current Windows XP Professional SP2 (Service Pack Launched 2) was to solve the problems first question, which is also very well done. When testers doubled the memory in the test machine from one Gigabyte to two gigabytes, the result was a meager 4% improvement in performance.

I bought this software at Best Buy but it did not come with the key skin. This is a great product, I have tried many typing programs, 4 in total, because typing is very difficult for me (and I'm picky!) and this is the best I've tried so far. It is also reasonably priced, but cheaper at Best Buy, maybe b/c it didn't come with the key skin? The only thing I'm upset about is that I wish mine had come with a key skin! Unlike most programs I've found, this one starts from the beginning to the end. A lot of programs don't follow a specific plan, they just have you do a typing test in the beginning and then introduce letters with out showing you which fingers to use, that's the whole point of these programs, to teach you! And like another review stated, it does let you go back and redo a lesson, it also lets you know what keys you need to review. The only thing I would change is to make the letters bigger to read because when you are a beginner it is hard to follow along with the text.
